Tooth Whitening

Tooth whitening is available in our clinics in two techniques: I n-house : Involves application of a stronger whitening gel to the tooth surface, by the dentist. Three applications are applied in one session. Total session may last for about one hour or more. At home kits : Involves application of a relatively milder whitening gel to the tooth surface, by the patient himself/herself at home, under the guidance/instructions of the dentist using custom made trays. The gel is applied for a couple of hours in one session. A thorough scaling and polishing is essential before tooth whitening We use Opalescence (USA), Pola (Australia), HP Whiteness Maxx products. The results may vary from one person to another and from tooth to tooth. What to expect afterwards?

Discomfort of the trays, or that of keeping the mouth open for long periods of time, may vary from person to person and depending on the nature of procedure carried out Tooth sensitivity may occur in some patients, the duration and severity may vary from person to person De-sensitizing toothpastes and mouthwashes may be used Brushing and Flossing are required, and follow the instructions as given Dietary restrictions, if any given, may need to be followed The whitening results are not permanent, and follow up application may be required later on
